Developing and executing a strategy long before any type of liquidity event is an important step toward attracting investors, because a sound strategy and a proven track record of success will provide confidence in management, the business and the industry it competes in.

Jim Murphy of Murphy’s Metal Manufacturing is faced with several challenges: lackluster business performance levered with debt, and a brother less engaged in the business interested in exiting. Jim Murphy’s potential solution is to find a partner that will provide capital to invest in the business, buy his brother out, and support his vision to pass the business down to the fourth generation. To be successful, he will need to provide the investor a sound growth strategy and evidence that the business is on solid ground for future growth.

In this presentation Dick and Rob will provide an assessment of the Murphy’s Metal business and the industry it competes in. They will engage the audience in an interactive session using strategy tools that will help assess opportunities and establish priorities.
