Private companies often need outside capital to meet their business objectives (i.e. growth, liquidity).
Our panel of private equity investors will describe the advantages/risks for companies exploring a private capital partner, along with their recommendations to advisors in assisting shareholders prepare.

Lamar Cardinez is a Principal of Blue Owl and a member of Dyal’s Investment Team. Based in New York City, he is responsible for evaluating investment opportunities, underwriting transactions and capital raising for Dyal’s HomeCourt Partners Fund. Before joining Blue Owl, Lamar was an Investment Banking Associate at Guggenheim Securities. Prior to that, Lamar was a member of the National Football League’s Junior Rotational Program where he worked in various media and business development roles.
Lamar received a BS in Business Administration from Northeastern University, where he graduated with honors and received an MBA from Cornell’s Johnson School of Business.

Michael began his career with accounting firm BDO in London in their Insurance Industry Group. In 2014, he moved to the United States and began working in private equity with Comvest Partners, a middle market PE and direct lending fund. Since then, Michael has worked in operations, business development, and investor relations roles at Ampfield Management, a long-term oriented public equity fund in New York, and Consonance Capital, a hedge fund in New York. Michael is a graduate of University College Dublin, Ireland and earned his master’s degree in Accounting & Finance from City University of London. He holds the A.C.A. qualification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

Diane is an Senior Vice President with UBS Financial Services where she is an Institutional Consultant to Endowments, Foundations and Corporate plans, as well as a Financial Advisor to Business Owners and their families. She has over 25 years of experience in capital markets and lives in Port Washington with her husband and the youngest of four sons.
