While private equity firms have proliferated in recent years, the term private equity is still relatively misunderstood, particularly when it comes to the sellers of lower middle market family, founder and entrepreneur-led businesses. Our speaker will attempt to demystify the private equity asset class and will discuss the private capital market landscape and the current state of the private equity market, what private equity firms look for in potential portfolio companies and what it is like to sell your business to a private equity firm. Join us at our May session, for an inside look at what private equity is (and what it isn’t), the current state of the private equity market, and why you may want to consider private equity as a potential investor or acquirer when it is time for a liquidity event for your or your client’s business.

Jason joined Argosy Private Equity in 2019 and leads the firm's transaction sourcing and origination activities. Jason has 20 years of experience as an investment banker and private equity investor focused exclusively on middle market businesses, most of which have been family, founder or entrepreneur-owned. Throughout his career, he has advised middle market clients in across a broad range of industries on public and private company mergers and acquisitions, spin-offs, private placements, strategic alternatives, succession planning and capital formation issues. Prior to Argosy, Jason was a Managing Director with Baker Tilley Capital, as well as stints with Fleet M&A Advisors and Howard, Lawson & Co.
