XPX Atlanta: Deal Team Six - Live! Advisor Collab, In-Action, on an Actual Deal
We’ve heard from you, our XPX Atlanta members and Guests, wanting to see more deal collaboration within the Chapter and, especially for our new members coming into the M&A space, see how the collaborative approach really works.
Join us for lunch Tuesday May 14th as we return to the Buckhead Club and get yourself a front row seat to see what we will affectionately call Deal Team Six in action! (3 expert advisors with 2X the special talents)
Our first 2025 XPX Collaboration Case Study panel will share insights, advice and best practices on how advisor collaboration works -- the real deal.
Our moderator, John Roughen, will lead a dynamic discussion between 3 trusted advisors united on a single mission: pursuit of the perfect exit. We'll review an actual deal currently in process with a valuation specialist, Will Lee; an estate attorney, Bryan Galat; and a wealth manager, Matt Losanno.
This program will cover the deal-planning work to-date and how it all works together.
- Timeline and scope of work – how does tax strategy, buy-sell coverage, and a financial plan fit into this?
- Estate tax minimization – It’s one thing maximizing and growing the value of the company for sale. It’s another preserving the maximum amount of that value to be passed onto the next generation or generations!
- Valuation of business entities – to allow lifetime gift exemption to lock in the value before moving it outside of the estate. There’s more to the value of business valuation than putting on a price tag for sale. How does this component play with the other two when it comes to buy-sell and estate planning?
This Collab Case Study will be Part 1 of a 2-part program series where next year we will get this deal team and their business owner client back together to show how it's all finalized, and then again the following year or later once they sell and we wrap up.
