Susan Ylitalo of Day Pitney, Ron Hegt of Citrin Cooperman and Michael Clear of Wiggin and Dana and will lead a discussion covering both fundamental and advanced US income and estate planning strategies for our business owner clients. They will outline how Jim Murphy and his brother, the owners of Murphy's Metal Manufacturing, LLC (our 2017-2018 case study business), can use various strategies to facilitate business succession, reduce income, gift, and estate tax liabilities, and address family concerns. The discussion will review some of the more common income and estate planning strategies, including including use of valuation discounts, IDGTs, GRATs, and CRTs.
