XPX Austin: Transitioning the Family Business – Internal Succession

All family businesses must make a decision at some point in time – “Do we keep the business in the family or do we sell to an outside buyer?” We are pleased to welcome the Austin Business Journal’s 2022 Family Business Awards 3rd Generation Winner – Time Insurance Agency – as our panelists on Wednesday, February 15th. John Schuler (President) and his daughter, Lauren Schuler (VP of Sales), will share how they have transitioned from John’s dad founding the business in 1961, to Lauren and her sisters involvement in the family business today.

John and Lauren will share their experiences to help us better advise our family business partners as they discuss the multiple variables to consider when transitioning a family business.

Our April event will feature a panel discussion with two family businesses who decided to sell to an outside buyer.
