Jon-Paul “JP” Weiss has more than 23 years of tax experience in public accounting and industry. He has broad experience in ASC 740, domestic federal, state, and foreign tax compliance and planning, large consolidated corporate groups, partnerships, joint ventures, acquisitions, dispositions, and internal reorganizations.
JP has worked with publicly traded and private equity-backed private companies in the energy, manufacturing, service, technology, engineering, and construction sectors. Prior to joining UHY, JP was a director at three large international accounting firms. Earlier in his career, he worked in the tax function at a Big Five and a Big Four firm.

After completing his formal education majoring in Business Administration and Economics, James earned his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Certified Tax Advisor designations. James has over 40 years of experience as Tax & Financial Advisor allowing him to understand the complex challenges business owners have managing their business and personal finances.
