XPX Phoenix - Beyond the Transaction: How Charitable Strategies Transform an Exit
Most business owners plan carefully for the sale. Few plan for what happens to the wealth it creates, and that gap can be the most expensive oversight in the entire exit.
Here's what most advisors get wrong: they bring up charitable giving after the deal is done, when there's cash left over and nothing structural left to gain. By then, the client has already paid full tax on the dollars they wanted to give away.
Join Amber Ramirez (Vice President, Development, Arizona Community Foundation) and John-Paul Reiger (Vice President, National Christian Foundation Southwest) for a moderated discussion on what changes when that conversation happens before the letter of intent instead of after.
- How early does this conversation need to start, and how large does the gift need to be, before it actually moves the needle on an owner's tax bill?
- With so many types of giving vehicles to choose from, what actually determines the right fit for a client, and what does it cost when an advisor guesses wrong?
- What can be done before a letter of intent that becomes impossible once one is signed?
- What does the emotional side of this conversation cost advisors who skip it?
Come ready to rethink what your clients' liquidity events could accomplish beyond the transaction.
