Exit Planning – Strategic Future Health & Life

You have been strategic your entire career.
–              Strategic with and for your business
–              Strategic with growth
–              Strategic with your networking

Now you are strategic with your exit planning, the wrap up of that strategically planned career.

Too many people think this is the finish line.  Their need for strategy has ended.

If you want a long, vibrant, engaged, fulfilling future, nothing could be farther from the truth.

Others think they don’t need to worry about the ‘after the career’ seasons until after their retirement day.

My 35+ years of clinical experience have demonstrated that is often too late.
After a few months of freedom, disillusionment and loss of self can set in rapidly.

‘Ed’ thought he and his wife were on the same page.  Then he delayed retirement two years longer than she did.  Grandchildren came.  They were on very different pages when he finally retired.  He had assumed.

‘Linny’ thought after a long, very active medical career he knew just how to take care of himself and enjoy other interests.  His wife tells the harrowing tale of how very close to divorce they came as he grew more and more disillusioned.

‘Stan’ negotiated an astoundingly large buy-out.  Now he sits in an empty condo managing that money day after day after day.

These are very smart men who strategically navigated successful careers and accumulated significant wealth.

Yet they applied no real strategy to their personal transition.  They assumed that part would be easy since they had plenty of money.

KEY QUESTION: If you were no longer needed, where would you choose to matter?

And this is the #1 key to longevity. Way beyond supplements, stem cells, biohacking, zone 2 exercise, the primary key is finding that renewed purpose. Find your unique way to serve others such that you are fulfilled. Period.
