I am honored and excited to share XPX San Antonio 2022 Summit – “Strategies for Business Progression” to be held on Thursday, September 22nd at the Club at Sonterra. This half-day, informational Summit is just for you, our local businesses. Keynote speakers Carolyn Labatt, CEO of Computer Solutions, and Michael Kiolbassa, President of Kiolbassa Smoked Meats, will share their journeys from startup to present. We’re also featuring two panels of advisors, discussing short and long term goals for continued success. Carolyn Labatt

Opening Keynote
CEO, Computer Solutions

Carolyn Labatt is the majority owner and CEO of Computer Solutions, San Antonio’s largest systems integrator, and a leading provider of complex technology business solutions.

Carolyn has been on the forefront of the male-dominated technology industry since buying Computer Solutions in 1984 as a struggling Apple dealership. Time and again, she has had to rethink, re-position and reinvent her company to adapt to changing market conditions, take advantage of opportunities and keep her vision consistently moving forward.

Ken Saks

Panelist
Founding Partner, Oliva, Saks, Garcia & Curiel, L.L.P.

Mr. Saks is a founding partner in the law firm of Oliva, Saks, Garcia & Curiel, L.L.P. and has practiced for over 32 years in general business advisory, estate planning and asset protection, real estate, construction, non-profit, international transactions and commercial litigation.  He attended St. Mary’s University and holds B.B.A., Finance, J.D., and a Master of Law in International and Comparative Law (LL.M.).

Mr. Saks is also a fee attorney/escrow officer with Stewart Title Co. for over 10 years and served on the Texas Judicial Counsel for the State of Texas following the appointment by Gov. Greg Abbott and confirmed by the State Senate from 2017- 2021. He has been recognized as National Trial Lawyers Top 100 and Best of the Bar- Top 100 Settlements in 2019. 

Alan Kramer

Executive Vice President, Commercial Banker

Alan's first “real” job in San Antonio was for the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce where he served in a variety of roles but finished there after 5 years as the VP of Economic Development. He studied business at the University of Texas at San Antonio and received his MBA in 2005.

After The Chamber Alan started as a Business Banker for Bank of America but transitioned through a variety of commercial banking roles. He finished his 11 year career at Bank of America as an SVP in Middle Market/Commercial Banking managing large clients from Austin to the Rio Grande Valley. He then transitioned exclusively to covering large corporate size clients for Wells Fargo in San Antonio and transitioned in 2019 to The Bank of San Antonio’s Commercial Department where he works with a seasoned team of Commercial bankers. At The Bank of San Antonio, he helped create and led the bank’s PPP programs, executed its Main St. lending platform and is and helped implement policies and procedures as the bank continues to transition into a multi-billion dollar institution.

Christi Rohmer, CPA

Consultant, ATKG

Christi Rohmer, CPA, is a consultant with ATKG working with clients on M&A services including valuation, due diligence, negotiation and support, as well as fraction CFO services. She has a finance background including ten years as CFO of the ISS Facility Services, Inc.’s US operations and the legacy company, Sanitors, Inc., which she helped grow from a regional business with operations in two states to a large national entity through acquisitions and organic growth. Her experience also includes obtaining financing for a rapidly growing oil and gas services company as its CFO, serving in a variety of financial management roles for manufacturing companies, and three years in public accounting at EY.  She has specific expertise in negotiating M&A, equity capitalization and senior debt transactions as well as business valuation, due diligence, transition and integration.

Liz Papagni

Liz Papagni is a brand and marketing thought leader who has worked with a vast array of clients, from established small businesses to Fortune 500 companies. With a passion for helping companies develop strategies that convince and convert customers, she has launched and propelled many brands by providing: Marketing, Brand Strategy, Digital, Social
Amplification, Creative, Content Creation and Traditional Media.

With her strategy-first philosophy, Liz partners with her  clients to help them determine their distinct market position,  reinforce customer relationships, and maximize results.

Nathaniel Rizzo

Nathan Rizzo is President of Rx Technology providing Technology Construction and IT Support with Headquarters in San Antonio, Texas. Nathan served as the Director of Business Development before spearheading the Managed Service practice which has turned Rx Technology into one of the premier IT Support firms in Texas.

Nathan received his M.B.A. in 2009 from the University of Dallas.

Michael Kiolbassa

Closing Keynote
President, Kiolbassa Smoked Meats

Michael is a native San Antonian and began his career in the family sausage business in 1987 after a two-year period working in the commercial banking industry as a credit analyst.  Since then, he has overseen the transformation of the family meat company from a small family business to one of the fastest growing meat brands in the US with national distribution of their sausage, chorizo and dry-cured bacon.  He was named one of San Antonio’s “40 under 40” rising business stars, the 2004 Small Businessperson of the Year by the Small Business Administration and a 2016 and 2020 finalist for Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year award.  In 2020, his company, Kiolbassa Smoked Meats was named by Forbes Magazine as one of 25 “Small Giants” in business.  His company was the focus of a case study on successful transitions in family business by Stetson University’s Family Business Enterprise Center and has been named a Top Workplace in San Antonio for the past seven years.
